YMCA Lake Norman

Y READERS is a nationally-recognized literacy program for students in grades K-3 who are reading below grade level. The program is offered to families at no cost and utilizes certified teachers to provide the additional support students need to be proficient in reading by the end of the 3rd grade. Y READERS serves over 700 students through a six-week summer camp and after school program. Through the generosity of donors, the Lake Norman YMCA funds 48 students at Cornelius Elementary during the summer. Participants also receive free swim lessons and water safety instruction.
